Yes, Great Northern's VV&E was completed to Sumas in 1908 and removed
in 1929, so its operation is out of Kent Sullivan's mid-1950s timeline
by some 20 years. However, the old grade was visible north and west
of CPR Huntingdon until a few years ago when the area became
industrialized.

Doug (and List),
I have employee and public timetables showing Great Northern service
into
Sumas and Huntingdon.
Also, see http://www.vanc.igs.net/~roughley/gn_fv_3.html.

I do not believe the GN ever ran into Sumas/Huntingdon. Their
east/west line
was further north and ran from Cannor which was west of Chilliwack
(connection with Canadian Northern later Canadian National) west along
the
north side of the lake.
