As former O Scaler why did i go to HO in 1975 I could buy a Van Hobbies Brass engine without having to scratch build an o scale CPR steame engine , I had machine shop training but this was a major undertaking , I spent many a sunday afternoon with Chuck Bard builder extrodinaire he even crafted his own 75in drivers built the frames etc and built an accurate Royal Hudson and a 1201 and a whole host of beauties from the other railroad .I did buy a Weaver Roayal Hudson but it ran beautifully but left a lot to be desired . so my vote would be a G5 I helped retube 1201 and rode behind her it was a beautiful engine . Yes they didn,t last as long but they were true beautiful engines regards DAVID HILL

ANY CP steam would be welcome in O scale. My first choice would be a later G3 pacific. A PROPERLY (note emphasis on 'properly') done royal hudson. A G5 or G2 would be nice. After a lifetime of drought, Canadian O scale seems to be selling well. Bill
