Hi, just so that anyone knows a bit more about the prototype car.
The number series is 223950-224449 and they were delivered between June and
July 1943. The cars were built using 5/8 plywood on the sides and ¼ roof
as a way to save weight and war time measures to save steel. Its a
uniquely Canadian car and unlikely anyone will mass produce it.
In 1958 to 1959, 351 cars were rebuilt to stock cars (277500-277870).
Pierre mentioned that depending on how well the model is received he might
do the stock version too.

Subject: [cpsig] CPR plywood side wartime boxcars Yarmouth Model Works
Hi there -
I received an e-mail from Yarmouth Model works indicating they have their
first photo of the sides of this HO model ready for viewing. I posted a copy
of the shot in the photos section of the yahoo web site in a file titled
Yarmouth Model Works, here:

The note from Pierre Oliver indicates:
The CPR plywood sheathed 37 AAR boxcar.
The kit will feature a one piece body casting, laser cut running boards,
etched ladder stiles and stirrups along with other etched details, Black
Cat decals and Tahoe Model Works truck frames.
I expect to release full kits in a couple of months from now
I'm not connected to this project or Yarmouth in any way (although when I
learned of the project I did send them a poor quality digital photo in case
it might help).
