Page 87 of "Signatures in Steel" shows these stepboxes to be natural
aluminum/galvanised steel/stainless in 1977.

Would anyone know how the CPR passenger car step boxes were painted? Were
they brass sides or painted some colour? Does time period matters? Perhaps
an outline of that would be useful.
