I am looking for additional historical info and photos of CP combine
3249. This car was one of several combines which saw regular service
on the Huntingdon mixed, trains 809/810, between Vancouver and
Huntingdon. In 1959 the passenger service was terminated but 809/810
continued as freight only between Coquitlam and Huntingdon. There was
some discussion regarding the Huntingdon mixed on this list back in
2005 so for anyone who hasn't seen those posts and might be interested
in some additional detail have a look back at the relevant posts.
In particular I am looking for any shots of this car that would be
useful for modelling purposes. I have a couple of poor quality negs
of 3249 and have uploaded a scanned image from one of these negs to
the miscellaneous album for anyone who may want to have a look at the
car. You can see the general appearance of the car, the truss rods,
6-wheel trucks, and the single vestibule.
I have seen the ORER and Equipment Summary documents in the CPHA
library but I would be interested in additional info such as the build
date, the original builder, rebuilds, and previous owners, if any.
