Your mother-in-law is my true inspiration. You gotta love how they made things
work with what they had.

Women tend to improvise............... I like to keep them thinking !
Many years ago I was visiting the mother-in-law and her grass needed mowing.
She had an electric mower and a 100 ft. cord. When I looked at the cord things
puckered some since it had been spliced, the longest unsliced section being
about 18 inches long. Each time she ran over the cord and cut it she used a
different "substance" to cover the splices, depending on what was at hand.
Electical tape (obviously applier by her other son-in-law), bandaids (including
the pad), duct tape, duck tape, scotch tape, packing tape, AirMail mailing
labels, and various colors of well snapped Chiclets.
I think she was probably using that same cord until she died from old age !!!

Methinks you are about to become an electronics tech !
Cut the plug off the old fan keeping a couple inches of wire with the
plug, strip the insulation off about a half inch, twist red to red, black to
black, and yellow to yellow, together, and then cover the bare wires with a wad
of bubble gum.
Next time at Radio Shack get some connectors and replace the bubble gum ?

Ok..I received my new pc fans..one of them is a Panaflo dc brushless
Model #FBA09A12M. The problem is..at the "plug" end..there is no plug, just a
red wire, a black wire, with exposed wire ends. I have NO idea what to do with
it, now in the box along with the other brands/types of fans I ordered, there
was a wire with a connector to my pc on one end and a connector on the other
end that sort of looks like the one coming out of the fan but is not the same.
This connector wire is red, black and yellow, the wires coming out of the fan
are black, red.
Color me puzzled..does anyone have any idea what or how I'm supposed to
connect this type of fan to the MB?
                                                 TIA.......Jackie
