I didn't know that moose (moose's?) came in USB form.  Does the Department of 
Fish and Wildlife know about you connecting your moose via USB?

is it a USB or PS/2 connected moose?  USB may have something else
conflicting. No other mouse drivers installed and both virii and
spyware/hijackers have been checked for? No damage to the connector on the
mainboard?
