I think you're referring to the XE-1541 Cable.

Try here: http://sta.c64.org/xe1541.html

Or look on Ebay for one... :)

They DO work...i have one (not connected currently) and was able to transfer
files without any problems. Ran my PC to a 2nd-generation 1541 drive. Dont
know if I tried it with th 1581..but also worked with a 1571 (in 1541-mode).

 All ANSI anyway.

With the cgterm prog, you dont need the Commodore to get there...although
I have a few of those sitting in storage anyway.

Just thought i'd pass it along to the rest of the "geeks" as my wife calls
me. :)

out on eons - maybe this summer I'll have room to get the Vic 20, C64 and
C128d out again, maybe even build the cable to be able to get the info
from floppies to a PC then onto CDrom.

For those of you who used to do anything BBS-wise with Commodore 64/128
etc...

Check this for a "C64 term program" to connect & be able to see the
  graphics.

Then go here:

The Lost Caverns BBS (Telnet)

Address: lostcavernsbbs.dyndns.org
Port: 6002

Any questions, email me.. .it's not mine, but i know the Sysop.
And yes, my wife sez "You're a Geek"...and she "Doesn't understand, but
she'll deal with it" :)
