I definitely think nostalgia is a driving force for many collectors. The only
other reason would be that someone gained an appreciation for the characters
through movies,gaming or other avenues.

I was asked an interesting question by a friend the other day. She asked
whether my kids were going to be interested in my hobby. After thinking about
it, I think my honest answer is probably not. Now even though I have bought a
number of nostalgic pieces and they are my grails, I think my appreciation of
the art form has grown over time to include stuff I never read, let alone as a
kid. However, I think my kids will only be interested as it might remind them
of me and that it hung on the way of their childhood home. Soooo, interest
must me more nostalgia! Thoughts?
