In further response to Aaron's inquiry:
The Collaborative Divorce Video Series, 'Collaborative Practice in Action,'
shows collaborative practitioners working together dealing with real issues at
'real' meetings. The viewer gets to see the interplay between clients and all
the professionals as they move through the collaborative process. There are
9-episodes, a total of 4-hours of meetings/ training on 4 DVDs.
Each video episode has accompanying materials on a CD in PDF format providing
teaching points for the particular exercise, exercises for practice and
discussion questions to facilitate the processing of the practice experience.
If you go to the website, www.cathyheenan.com you will be able to preview you
the episodes. There are 19 video clips to preview.
These videos are being used in practice groups worldwide to provide the
springboard for the experience you described in your e-mail...learning how we
each think about a particular situation or interaction and providing a chance
to learn from one another.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Best regards,
Cathy

Subject: Re: [CollabLaw] Recommendations of Collaborative Training Videos
Let me offer the 21-chapter training video, "The Hal and Elaine Case," which I
produced with a great collaborative team, including Peggy Thompson, Randy
Cheek, David Fink, me, Lisa Schneider, Anne Jacobson Nunno, and Jeffrey Kahn.
Its purpose is to be a self-training resource for practice groups.
The focus is on collaborative professional teamwork; each short video chapter
(8-12 minutes) demonstrates a stage of an unfolding collaborative case that
begins looking fairly do-able and becomes a slow-moving train wreck on the
client side. There is also a CD-Rom with trainer's notes and a discussion
guide for each chapter.
It demonstrates the coordinated roles of lawyers, financial neutral, two allied
coaches, and a child specialist, working together on challenging problems.

I think Maria meant to say RITA POLLAK & CATHY HEENAN. Their videos on the
interdisciplinary collaborative process are not free, but very good. Previews
are available on their web site: http://pollakheenan.com ;

What are your favorite Collaborative Divorce training videos or sets of
videos? I am interested in depictions of interdisciplinary case
planning or practitioner/client interaction. Our regional group is
planning for our upcoming monthly meetings, and we think that video
vignettes can be used to generate discussion, thus allowing us to learn
how each other thinks and to learn from each other. Back channel to me
if you wish at awelt@xxxxxxxxxxx
Thanks very much.
