Last year at a conference in Toronto I did an informal survey of the
number of Canadian lawyers who had some Collaborative Law training the
numbers by that survey were as follows as at Nov 2002:

This is at best an educated guess.
Since then the numbers have likely doubled and there are groups now
trained in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and next month in
the Yukon. The only province that has not had any CL training is
Newfoundland and I stand to be corrected on that. As a reference point
there are about 50,000 lawyers in Canada.

the ABA Louis M. Brown Award for Legal Access on behalf of Collaborative
Law.
I need to have the application submitted by Thursday afternoon.
Have any of you generated any figures for the total number of
collaborative
law groups that exist nationally and in Canada?
My sense is that internationally the concept is exploding so quickly it
is a
little like trying to give the size of a super nova. The best we can say
is
that it is increasing at an increasing rate.
The application description needs to be held to 200 words or less, so
our
main task will be to speak succinctly. A daunting undertaking for any
attorney.
