Given that you have gone through your settings:
To troubleshoot, I would use an external wifi adapter plugged into a usb
port. That will let you know if the onboard adapter bit the dust pretty
quick.
I keep one laying around the house for just this reason. AND older
computers great for running linux can have wifi cards that support old B
and G which isn't backwards compatible from AC which is what newer wifi
routers run.
