Well, Dave's quotes did quite sum up the day. Warm weather, clear skies,
calm waters. Large entourage from Minnesota (new direct flights in and out
of Santa Barbara to Minneapolis is the draw). We paralleled the coast
eastward, at about Refugio / El Capitan. On the way up, we had the treat of
sighting the Dall's Porpoises. A bit later, bingo for the rest of the trip.
Common dolphins spread out over large areas, and humpbacks in two different
areas. Extra treats - breaching close to the vessel, and not too far
eastward with two others. We followed two large adult humpbacks that came
quite close.. We were about 1 hour 30m out, and, had to go back. Had the
final treat of the day with an elephant seal.. Not a bad day.
