Hi All,
It is deployed!!! !st one is at work. Great news, … a dynamite start!
My sense is, some of you may be following this also, thus this is a repeat
for you. It is such an important project, it is vital that we get the word
out to everyone we can. So a bit of redundancy, hopefully, is not an issue.
For the rest of us, there is much information on this available, the most
direct, of course are the great videos they are putting out for this very
same reason. Then there is tremendous amount of information at their web
site.
I strongly encourage you to get into this, it is, as is obvious, a major
issue, and questions are coming to us from the public, asking us about this.
Thus we have here, a great opportunity to bring ourselves up to speed on this
so we are ready with very good, and latest info to share with the public
every time we meet them.
Then this leads us into the over all issue of our use of plastic and how we
need to address the end of use issue. This of course, it is already a serious
discussion in progress, one that is to be encouraged, to find further
solutions. We can share the impacts discarded plastics have on the ocean and
all the life forms within it.
As always more work to do, and we are privileged to be in a very good
position to share, with them, good solid factual information.
Catchya on the water soon,

SYSTEM 001 DEPLOYED
On October 3rd, System 001 embarked on its final leg of the journey to the
Great Pacific Garbage Patch. We are happy to announce that it has reached
its intended location and has been deployed into operational configuration;
the cleanup has officially begun.
The Pacific Trials provided us with our last chance to test the system
before we took it all the way to the patch. It was the first time we ever
configured the system in its U-shape and the first time we were able to
observe the entire 600-meter system in action.
After 14 days of trialing, we concluded that System 001 was ready to brave
the notorious Great Pacific Garbage Patch. The crew arranged the system back
into the towing formation and made way to the heart of the patch,
approximately 850 nautical miles from the trials location. On October 16th,
after several days of unfavorable weather, we arrived in the patch; within
the same day, System 001 was deployed back into its U-shape and finally in
its intended location.
