Whales whales and more whales.
Just as Dave did yesterday, we headed out west way past UCSB to find thousands
of dolphins and large numbers are humpbacks.
The official count is close to 12 humpback whales in our immediate the area
around the boat.
However there were at least 20 + that were within our view.
We spent a fair amount of time with Scarlet and what Dave thinks is her calf as
well as a 3rd humpback whale. These 3 whales were later joined by additional
whales so that at this point we had whales all around us.
Toward the end of the trip, before we had to say goodbye to the whales and
headed home, we literally had 3-4 whales on both sides of the boat with endless
amounts of spouts all around us.
The weather was stellar and one of the best days in recorded history. It was
very warm with no breeze, no chop and great visibility with clear glassy water.
There were people from Germany, Poland, Italy, England, Canada and Korea.
Today’s crowd was especially pleasant and engaging and fun people to hang out
with for the day. One couple that I talked to was from a small town in South
West England that I told them I had visited a few years back which made that
conversation even more interesting.
