Hallo All, My goal in this quest is to stay as close as possible to the supreme renderings of chaoscope in solid mode, those surfaces don't have thickness. So real live objects have to have thickness. I like them to have a thickness as thin as possible and that you can have it in your hands withour damaging the object. By the very delicate process of vacuum casting a min thickness is related to the overal size of the object, If the object is much more bigger one need to make also the thickness greater. If the surface is to thin related to the overal size the chance that the liquid bronze will solidify before filling the whole form becomes a great risk. On the website that I am setting up I will make a page of this process. Another reason is the cost aspect. So in fact there are no real limitations for size, "just" many practical and technical problems that can be solved..... Peter. ----- Original Message ----- From: Marjo & Charles Lips To: chaoscope@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, April 27, 2007 11:45 AM Subject: [chaoscope] Re: A dream comes true Thanks for your reply, I will look into this. What's the reason for the maximum size of 10 cm? ----- Original Message ----- From: Peter Jansen To: chaoscope@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, April 27, 2007 11:47 AM Subject: [chaoscope] Re: A dream comes true Hallo Charles, hallo all, you can sent the parameters to : 3d@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, I will look what is possible ! At the moment I am setting up a sort of "printservice", a place where people can order from stock, or where chaoscope users can have built there favourite, if they want. We are doing this week some experiments with vacuum casting in bronze, so hopefully in some day's we will know if its possible to cast strange attractors in bronze with a thickness 1,5 mm and largest size about 10 cm. So, more about this in a few weeks ! kind regards, Peter ----- Original Message ----- From: Marjo & Charles Lips To: chaoscope@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, April 25, 2007 1:38 PM Subject: [chaoscope] Re: A dream comes true Hi Peter, Seriously now: I want to buy one. I'd like to submit parameters to you and then have it made by you; possible? ====================================================== The Chaoscope mailing-list Archives : //www.freelists.org/archives/chaoscope Admin contact : chaoscope@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Web site : http://www.chaoscope.org ======================================================
