Thank you so much, Karen and Joe. In three days the fire perimeter has
grown to 15,000 acres and can be readily seen from Highway 395, the road to
and from all the little towns in the area. Hopefully, the expected rain
will help the cause; just enough to help put out the fire but not so much
to cause flash flooding (we have a flash flood warning in the burn scar
areas now, too.) 💛

At this moment, we're under a Level 2 evacuation order here at Loon Lake,
WA. The fast-moving Corkscrew Fire that started yesterday and has grown to
more than 5000 acres. The smoke is thick and the flames are making their
way to nearby towns like mine. Our little lake is very narrow at the north
end where we live, and the ridge above it is already glowing. We'll be
watching and hoping as the night progresses.
