I've also had pretty good luck with my Cirrus card. My main WfW3.11 system uses a Cirrus Logic 5446 PCI video card (1MB) that has drivers available that work great for Windows 3.1, NT 3.51, and 95. I've been using it for a long time in 3.1 and NT 3.51 with 800x600 16-bit color and I've never had a problem with it, so if a newer Cirrus card had the drivers you needed, it might be something to try. I also used to use an Avance Logic 1MB card that also worked pretty well in 3.1, but I don't remember if I ever found NT 3.51 drivers for it. -PC Freak PC Freak's WebZone http://pcfwebzone.vze.com Calmira iWarp Program WebRing http://calmirawebring.vze.com ----- >Glenn spoke kindly of Cirrus Logic chips, using them as a basis for comparison: >> ... when I compare it to say my old Cirrus Logic 5426 based card. I can at least confirm that experience. My old CL-GD5248 with 2Mb gives an excellent account of itself, even with my (equally) old interlaced monitor. It does have native drivers for OS/2, as well as Win3x, plus eight languages of documentation, including Dutch. Unfortunately, I'm not sure about Win95 and NT3.51 drivers ... and it's a VESA bus card. Not to mention, it's the only one I've got. I will consult my private guru; perhaps he has a suggestion. Meanwhile, like Glenn said, "Google time." Regards, Norm -- To unsubscribe, send a message to ecartis@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe calmira_tips" in the body. OR visit //freelists.org
