Hi Ronald,

Whenever you experience this kind of problem, you should first check your
Cockpit Voice Recorder Transcript (CVRT) file before posting a problem.

For example, in this instance you were assigned Gate S29.

Here are the entries from your CVRT file:

USER: You said, ’michelle let’s taxi to gate sierra two nine era’ 7:27:35 PM
MIKE: Michelle said, ’Sorry. Gate, sierra, two, niner,,does not exist.’ 7:27:36
PM
USER: You said, ’michelle let’s taxi to gate sierra two nine to’ 7:27:45 PM
MIKE: Michelle said, ’Sorry. Gate, sierra, two, niner, two,,does not
exist.’ 7:27:46
PM
USER: You said, ’recognize taxi clearance’ 7:27:54 PM
USER: You said, ’michelle let’s taxi to gate sierra two nine are heady’ 7:28:04
PM
MIKE: Michelle said, ’Sorry. Gate, sierra, two, niner,,does not exist.’ 7:28:05
PM
USER: You said, ’michelle let’s taxi to general aviation parking’ 7:28:21 PM
MIKE: Michelle said, ’Captain, we are taxiing to parking area, five, ’ 7:28:22
PM

As you can see, none of the following exist:

sierra two nine era
sierra two nine to
sierra two nine are heady

I would suggest that you simply say, "Sierra Two Nine", and NOT "Sierra Two
Niner". In other words, drop the "er" on the end of nine. This will make it
far easier for the Microsoft Speech Recognition system to understand the
word 9.

Regards,
Robert
