Hi Tony,

Okay---it's now version 4.1.0.269 ad it's available for download.

Please let me know how things go.

The debugger remains active for 24 hours, so no need to execute it again.

Regards,

Robert

PS. BIG BROTHER will be watching!

Hi Tony,

please give me till 17:00 UTC before downloading and trying again. I want to
put some more debugging stuff up there.

REGARDING: ILS

Looking back at the log, Michelle said:

Michelle said, 'The localizer's alive' 6:57:46 AM

Michelle said, 'The glide slope's alive' 6:58:03 AM

So, she should have no trouble capturing the Localizer or the glideslope.

REGARDING: Local Traffic

Mea culpa. Upon closer review, I see the switch to the advisory and the
"Announce Position" statement you made. Sorry.

REGARDING: Clear of the runway

After leaving the runway, you should be able to say...

"Clear of the runway"

r :)

Hi Tony,

IYP Version 4.1.0.268 is now available for download that has some additional
error trapping.

Please load the CYXJ to CYQU flight.

Launch IYP

Press CTRL+E to start engine and bring Avionics online.

Request IFR Clearance.

Once done, say, "Announce Taxi Intentions"

You will still get the error, but I'll be able to see the erroneous data.

Thanks for your help.

Hello Tony,

I had the SERVER DEBUGGER on for your entire flight and observed everything
that was happening in real-time.

Wow! You did a remarkable job.

I observed as you perform an ILS approach on runway 29, then at five hundred
AGL, you executed a "Go Around", came around and did a "Visual Approach", it
blew my socks off !!!

I also observed a few errors, the biggest being the "Announce Taxi" issue.

I will need to put in some further debugging to trap that problem.

Once I get that software written, we can address that by merely starting the
Bravo with CTRL+E, then say, "Announce Taxi Intentions". I will get back to
you ASAP on this issue.

Other observation.

You said to Michelle... "set propeller pitch to low r p m". That is a No-No.
I'm surprised she could execute the Go Around.

It does however, give rise to me writing some code to automatically optimise
both the Propellor Pitch and Mixture setting in the BVI mode.

In the meantime, please leave it set to "High RPM". Thanks.

You used the syntax:

"going to one three four point five"

"five kilo tango is with you"

While that is perfectly functional, please try using...

"Acknowledge Hand Off"

"Contact Next Controller"

so I can be sure it works in all cases. Thanks again.

The major issue was the failure to contact the Local Traffic.

Please take a listen to this video about 10 minutes in. The entire video is
16 minutes long.

All in All Tony, that was a remarkable flight !!!

I will get back to you ASAP on the taxi stuff. Thanks for all you help.

Best regards,

Robert

I haven't read it in a while, and just ploughed on with the testing.

I'll be sure to in future before posting any issues, sorry about that.

Hello Tony,

Referring to the Code Revisions section located here:

http://www.itsyourplane.com/html/revisions.asp

there's a link to the evolving SimpleATC formal documentation located here:

http://www.itsyourplane.com/html/satc.asp

Under the SimpleATC section, there's a lot of information about this pending
version. One of the notes reads:

NOTE: In the Blind Pilot mode, the ATC Window remains open at all times
while in flight. This feature can be enabled and disabled. See Voice
Commands > Blind Pilots/Visually Impaired area for details. In the:

Voice Commands > Blind Pilots/Visually

section, it reads:

Maintain ATC Window open during flight

B V I A T C on

B V I A T C off

Since totally blind pilots cannot see whether or not the ATC window is open,
by activating BVI ATC, the ATC window remains open during flight. For those
who are visually impaired, they can deactivate this feature.

NOTE:: Effective Version 4.1.0.266.

I will be releasing BETA Version 4.1.0.267 in a few minutes that will
address a few of the items that have been raised of late... like the Cowl
Flaps.

Please keep in mind that BETA 4.1.0.267 is NOT what the final release will
be labelled. The final release will stall be called: 4.1.0.266. I'm only
raising the BETA version to the next minor version so I can be sure BETA
testers are running the correct software. It also means that you can simply
install the software, without having to uninstall the previous version 266.

I hope that's clear... <LOL>

Thanks for all of your help Tony.

Regards,

Robert

Hi Robert

I've always had those options set.

Regarding ATC, what used to happen is that the ATC menu could be closed
either by saying toggle ATC or by use of the scroll lock.

It would then remain closed until a Controller issued an order or told me
off.

Now though, it appears to remain open constantly, i.e. it can be closed yet
opens again almost at once.

Guess it doesn't matter that much to a BVI pilot, not sure what someone
watching would see though.

Hi,

I made two observations that are very relevant for BVI users:

1. Pause on Task Switch

You need to disable this setting, otherwise, when ALT-TABBING away from the
simulator, it will go into PAUSE mode. Please do the following:

With the simulator in view, press ALT, followed by the letters O, E, G to
get to the General Options.

Within the section on the left side entitled:

Program

the second check box down is entitled:

Pause on Task Switch

Please ensure that this check box in UNCHECKED.

2. In the same panel, on the right hand side under the section entitled:

Air Traffic Control

please ensure that the check box entitled:

Auto-open ATC window

is CHECKED.

Once done, press ENTER to return to the simulator's main view.

Regards,

Robert
