I have never had a problem doing long haul flights with RC4. Sounds like you
have not set something up correctly.

I'm not. Changing voices is a pain. I just downloaded some new voice sets for
RC4 and can't change the voice sets in the program to what these new voice sets
require.
Second, if any of you plan to fly longhaul flights--London to JFK, for example,
good luck using RC4. I'll say this: it's impossible to use
PF3 in mode 0 or 1 in any way that's reliable..
I wouldn't mind interacting with ATC if MSATC actually let you send messages in
while controllers are talking. If everyone sets their PF3 to mode 2, you'd know
what was happening in all phases of flight.
Since you only get text feedback on mode 0, it's impossible, IMO, to make an
interface for PF3 until that's fixed, and as I said, that's not on the PF3
developers high priority list, it'd seem.
You can customize a lot of PF3. I have yet to figure out a way to make
PF3 get me to the proper FAF altitude, E.G. so I don't have to calculate it
every time I want to capture an ILS approach.
It's also worth noting that with both RC4 and PF3, you can't do the approach
checklist when IYP advises you do. I have done this several times, in in each
case with both ATC programs, I either miss the glideslope, or IYP starts
landing before PF3 clears me to start descending, resulting in PF3 telling me
to ascend back to where I was after IYP already started landing after capturing
the glideslope.
Just my observations. About the only thing I like about MSATC is that I can
pretty much follow IYP instructions and most of the time it's a smooth landing.
That "Refile IFR Flightplan" command seems to be bugged, however, as I can do
it and it looks as though it basically re-loads the flight, but when I try to
do anything with ATC it's always flight following, not resuming my IFR plan.

Any thoughts on the cause?

tells me to resume own navigation then it proceeds to tell me that I
am not on the airway. Also it drives me nuts when it keeps yelling
at me to reduce my speed say to 210 knots, and even after I have done
so, it still yells at me to slow to 210 knots or whatever.

Speaking of realism, which is more realistic, PF3 or RC4?

Hi To all.Blind and Visually impaired Pilots mailinglist
I was thinking of picking up PF3 for more realistic ATC.
But Robert has a full plate right now and has placed making pf3 on
the back burner for now.
So, maybe we should wait until Robert can find the time to make PF3
work with IYP and FSX for we BVI Pilots?
I still have my traffic to pick up and the more realistic sound
package for the b744 aircraft.
So what does everyone think of my suggestion.
Should we wait Jordan, or can we get PF3 to work for we BVI pilots
while Robert finds the time to make it work with IYP and fsx for we
BVI Pilots?
Many Thanks.
