 That's a wild woodpecker. That orange doesn't quite even look natural.

I wonder if it's something in its diet.

I think I have heard that "orange" House Finches get that plumage because of 
their diet, and so do Cedar Waxwings with orange tips to their tail instead of 
yellow.
