Following the Club meeting Tuesday evening, the club has several birding trips 
and meetings coming up in the next few weeks:

This weekend--Roan Mountain Fall Naturalist Rally,    Registration begins at 
5:30 p.m. Friday, September 10 at the Roan Mountain Convention Center
Birding Field Trips                Saturday, September 11         7:00 a.m.

Saturday, September 18  "Warbler Warm-up" Field Trip.  Meet at Sycamore Shoals 
at 7:00 a.m. to go to Carver's Gap
                                       One Objective--to re-familiarize 
ourselves with fall warblers to be ready for the Fall Count
                                       Hope to also see other species and 
possibly some migrating hawks.    Bring snacks and a drink.

Saturday, September 25  Five County Fall Count.  The area is divided into six 
count areas, each with a group leader. If you would like to help with the 
count, contact me (Phone 423-202-7802) for information on the areas, groups, 
group leaders and their contact information or contact a group leader directly. 
 Compilation will be the next day, Sunday, September 25 at 2:30 at Sycamore 
Shoals  (outside at the picnic tables, weather permitting--otherwise inside).
Group Leaders and areas are as follows:
1  GARY Wallace team: Stoney creek area,Wilber, Sycamore Shoals and Holston Mt. 
 
2  FRED Alsop team: Roan Mountain and Ripshin.  
3 TOM McNeil and ROB Biller team: Pond Mt., Butler and Roan Creek. 
4 JOE McGuiness team: Unicoi county and Jackson farm area. 
5 GLEN Eller team:  South Holston and Shady Valley. 
6 RICK Knight team: Washington county area.

Club members, submit your photos for the Club Calendar to Bryan Stevens at 
ahoodedwarbler@xxxxxxx for his consideration.  Photos should be in high 
resolution .jpg form. Send photos before the end of September.

Saturday, October 2     Field Trip to the Big Bald Banding Station.  Meet at 
7:30 a.m. at the U.S. Forestry Headquarters in Unicoi.  Bring a lunch and 
drinks.

Tuesday, October 5     Regular Club Meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Science 
Building (usual spot) at Milligan College.

Shore Bird Identification

Friday-Monday, October 15 to 18, Club trip to South Carolina and Georgia.
