Following the Club meeting Tuesday evening, the club has several birding trips and meetings coming up in the next few weeks: This weekend--Roan Mountain Fall Naturalist Rally, Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday, September 10 at the Roan Mountain Convention Center Birding Field Trips Saturday, September 11 7:00 a.m. Field Trip Leader; Rick Knight 8:30 a.m. Field Trip Leader, Kenn Kaufmann Sunday, September 12 8:30 a.m. Field Trip Leader, John Hay Saturday, September 18 "Warbler Warm-up" Field Trip. Meet at Sycamore Shoals at 7:00 a.m. to go to Carver's Gap One Objective--to re-familiarize ourselves with fall warblers to be ready for the Fall Count Hope to also see other species and possibly some migrating hawks. Bring snacks and a drink. Saturday, September 25 Five County Fall Count. The area is divided into six count areas, each with a group leader. If you would like to help with the count, contact me (Phone 423-202-7802) for information on the areas, groups, group leaders and their contact information or contact a group leader directly. Compilation will be the next day, Sunday, September 25 at 2:30 at Sycamore Shoals (outside at the picnic tables, weather permitting--otherwise inside).
