Exactly my view on the matter. I do like both games, don't get me wrong. And as for sounds, I'll give you that... MK does have a lot more impactful and thunderous blows. But in my opinion, SF could be a basis for a kung fu movie, and that's what Capcom was aiming for, since SF isn't too realistic, but isn't too far out of the line, either. ----- Original Message ----- From: Yohandy To: brandonslist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, July 03, 2009 11:12 AM Subject: [brandon's list] Re: Blazblue To me, mk's always had better sound effects than sf. Don't get me wrong, capcom should congratulate themselves on the street fighter sounds for sf 4, they're absolutely incredible, but MK still wins. there is no doubt on what a sound effect means when you play mk. you hear an uppercut, and you'll know immediately what it is. every sound is completely different from the next. In terms of music, capcom won this year. I must say however that I love both games deeply and as long as the companies release them, I'll immediately buy them. ----- Original Message ----- From: Clement Chou To: brandonslist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, July 03, 2009 12:07 AM Subject: [brandon's list] Re: Blazblue That, I have to disagree with. Capcom will never make MK... that's not their style of fighting game. Nor will any other Japanese company. SNK is similar to capcom, and Namco is soul calibur and tekken... And in terms of audio... I hate to break it out. But Street Fighter has the best audio out of everything. MK will never get above an 8 on IGN. I'm not bashing MK... there are good things about it. But in terms of audio, street fighter has more variation... and the music has variety. And the character shout phrases that actually make sense. Regarding Blazblue's story mode, in total with the 12 characcters in the game, the story mode will take 30 hours to complete. I'm getting the game tomorrow, and will be reviewing it soon. In conclusion. I like MK. I don't hate it. But... if we're going to talk about this, I ask everyone to please not bash other companies or their games. And yes, DC audio has improved beyond my wildest expectations and I do rather like it. But SF always takes the spot in my heart. lol. It would be a personal bias, because I grew up with SF. I was spoiled with deep engines and engaging mechanics and characters. lol. But again I stress. I don't dislike Mortal Kombat. This is just an interesting topic for discussion.
