Dan: When do you plan to add word processor formatting, including things like centering, left- and right-allignment, tabs, bolding, underlinging, italics, various font types, haning indents, and other typical formatting that many of us require, and that most word processors provide? I'm trying to convince Rehab to help me with part or all of the cost of a new BS unit, but without this necessary formatting, I'm reluctant to continuing uring the powers that be at this time. Frankly, given the power and high quality of the BS, I am rather shocked and disappointed that basic document formatting has not been included, and will not most likely be included in the foreseeable future.

Thanks so much.

Hi - this is Dan Weirich from GW Micro. You probably know we've had a few
firmware updates since we introduced the Braille Sense including public beta
versions. One of the recent updates improved the accuracy of the battery
power level determination. In your case, when you checked the amount of
power left you got a message which said 17 percent at night and 3 percent
the next morning, maybe instead of losing power you just has incorrect
percentages reported to you. This was identified as an issue and it has
been corrected.

The latest public beta 2 firmware can be found at

http://www.gwmicro.com/News_&_Events/Latest_News/?newsNo=55

Please remember this is a beta version. We are using it as are many other
people but if you do not feel comfortable installing beta software then
simply wait. Hopefully in the not-to-distant future the Braille Sense betas
will turn into fully released versions.

If you need assistance installing this beta please contact our support
department by phone at 260-489-3671 or send an email to support@xxxxxxxxxxxx

Just in case I immediately get a barrage of emails directed at me I must
explain that I can't always monitor and respond to lists. I just had some
time and saw your recent posts.

Later,
Dan

Hi Anne:
When you are using your BrailleSense with the power, do you disconnect the
battery? Even though we don't have a BrailleSense, we've read enough to know
that this option is available as a part of the unit.
Today is what the Lord has given us.
Be thankful, and keep smiling!!
