I have confirmation from *6 members* of our HCI-VIS lab
<https://groups.cs.umass.edu/hci-vis/> who are interested to attend. Either
Tuesday or Thursday works for all of us.
Here are answers to your questions:
- What would be most convenient as far as timing, especially if folks
are coming from a slightly longer distance? Middle of the day? Late
afternoon into the evening?
- We can be there at 11am, we will leave early in the morning, but
considering the rush hours, it is safer to say we will be there at 11 am
and we can stay till evening (assuming this is a 1-day event).
- Would you be willing to offer a talk for the group (or organize a talk
or comparable activity)?
- Yes, we can offer 2 talks on accepted VIS 21 papers. We are also
submitting to VIS 4 Common Good workshop and will be more than happy to
give a workshop talk if our paper gets accepted and if there are empty
spots.
Do you know the date for this event? If it is still unknown, when do you
think we can pick a date?

Glad to hear there is interest so far. Certainly, we could plan for New
England area!
I’m not quite sure yet what the guidance will be for capacity either, but
we do know MIT is planning to return to work in the fall, and many of the
restrictions will be eased.

I'd be interested too. Not sure what is the guidance on capacity. But
coming from UMass Amherst, I wonder if we can make it a New England event
to include folks from Worcester, Providence, Lowell and others in the area.
