We always love out of print and difficult to find books.

They make this service even more unique and special.

Subject: [bookshare-discuss] Two new books submitted

Listers,
I thought I would mention that I've just uploaded two new books to
Bookshare.org for validation. I think both titles are top notch.
An Empire of Wealth, by John Steele Gordon, Harper Collins, 2004. RTF
format. This is a history of the rise of the United States to the status as
the sole global empire. Gordon argues that this is a unique historical
event in that earlier empires rested on military or religious power rather
than economic ingenuity. Gordon provides an overview of the important
people and moments in U. S. history.

Transit of Venus: Voyages in the Pacific, Julian Evans, 1992. RTF format.
This is an award winning travelogue of the Pacific islands. Evans provides
history, culture, and politics in a sardonic prose style. This book is not
available through NLS, and is, in fact, out of print. I purchased a copy
from a bookstore in Canada, so this is a rare find.
