Hi all,

<smiling> Yes, we've certainly gone far afield from our regular discussion, but I love discussing choral music.

I love the Brahms too, Larry. Have sung it several times over the past thirty years in both German and in English. I like the German better, even though all I can do is recite lyrics. No, I don't speak German. My favorite pieces from the classical repertroire are The Mozart Requiem, Mendelsson's Elijah and The Rutter. I like Thompson's Frostiana, Carmina Burana, and Briton's St. Nicholas.

One of the pieces I had the most fun singing was Glenn McClure's St. Frances in The Americas Caribbean Mass.

The accompaniment is a steel band! That is such a magnificent piece, and the music just makes your feet want to tap and your eyes stream! I don't think I have ever had so much fun rehearsing or performing anything!

"Laudato sie mi senor com le Creator, ..." Now look what you've done! I'll be singing it all day!

Humming the St. Frances Prayer,Ann P.
