Hi Patti, Your message made sense. <smile> I can answer your question about the New York Times bestsellers. Carrie Karnos does those in the bookshare office. This is a given. If you submitted one of this author's books and it was approved, her publisher must be one that bookshare.org accepts. I don't have a scanner, but we sure do have some experts on the volunteer list. Best wishes, Sue S. ----- Original Message ----- From: Patti Johnson To: bookshare-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, August 23, 2007 6:47 PM Subject: [bookshare-discuss] Book Requests Hi everyone. I went two nights ago to my church to hear a lady speak, who actually is from here but has made a name for herself in the Christian speaking and author circuit, and I believe we do have a couple of her books on the site, one of which I submitted. It could stand a re submit though because it was only rated fair. She has a new book coming out next month, called Slightly Bad Girls of the Bible, which is I think the third of her Bad Girls series: Bad Girls of the Bible, Really Bad Girls of the Bible, ;and now coming out, Slightly Bad Girls of the Bible. There are many more books that she has though. Her name is Liz Curtis Higgs. I would absolutely love to see more of her books on our website. Aside from the usual scanning and uploading, is there a way to make sure this happens, I am thinking of the New York Times bestsellers books that are a big part of Bookshare, how do they get on the site; are they also voluntarily scanned and uploaded per usual or is it done differently? Would some one have to contact her publishers to get the permission for all her books to be put up or would one of you who is terrific at this scanning and uploading be willing to go to her website which is www..lizcurtishiggs.com and find what books she has written and put them up? I could find that particular info out, what her books are, but I'm not going to volunteer to put them up because I don't have the best scanner in the world and would like them to be done as close to perfectly as possible. I am not sure I'm making sense with all this. But I'd dearly love to see all her books put up, because she has so much wisdom and knowledge to share and besides all that she is uproariously funny! Thanks for listening, Patti If you don't want to be accused of having a narrow mind, then stop blaming everything on the dog.
