I am not an expert of such things, but I think that in the long run it would benifit the LOC to allow people like APH to use their new system.

Absolutely not. Getting a bunch of politicians involved in what isessentially an internal administrative decision by NLS would only damage NLSin the long run. Besides, the time to complain about what devices the new Digital Talking Books will play on is long past. We were told from thebeginning that the system would be secure and it is. You have a choice: waituntil NLS players are available in another year or two or spend the money now to gratify yourself if you simply can't wait that long. You are notbeing deprived of any book titles, since everything that's being released inthe new DTB format is also being issued on tape. You are merely being inconvenienced and that's no basis whatever for asking your member of congress to stick his or her nose in. -----Original Message----- From: bookport_users-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport_users-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of John Sent: Tuesday, March 25, 2008 12:31 AM To: bookport_users@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport_users] Political Question Hi I also am hoping that this list is active. This question is not the king of question I can ask on the other list. Should we as Book Port owners contact our u.S. congressmen to ask them to require the LOC to allow anyone like the APH to put the hardware and software required to operate the new digital format?
