Kurt:

I don't know what caused your problem. For future reference, it would
have been ok to try another card; pulling out a bad card does not make
the Book Port do anything to subsequent cards. If your batteries went
dead while reading, this could have messed up the card.

I just had a problem which is serious to me. As I usually do I was
listening to a file when the bookport stopped reacting. I tried to
lock
and unlock it, which usually fixes the problem. Nothing happened. I
tried to reset defaults. Nothing. I finally had to take out one
battery
for a half second or so. When the battery went back in it said
something
like not a dos disk. File initialization error. I took out the
memory
card and put it back in, it said the same thing. I took out the
memory
card, it did not react. I then formatted the card. I did this because
I
didn't want to take the chance of putting the other card in and
screwing
it up too. Okay, so now I have formatted it and can start over. How
do
I prevent this in the future? Well, I guess I have a new clean card
to
start with now. Thought you would like to know this, since I hadn't
heard of these problems before. Kurt
