Unless something has happened in a firmware revision over the last while that I missed, Book Port won't sort files by name.

Hi David and list:

Not having tracks play in the same order is easily correctable. You just have to make sure they are named in proper sequence. That is, it should start with track01, not track1, etc. If you do that, they play in proper sequence. The only thing the bookport won't do as shuffle and that is perfectly fine with me.

Subject: [bookport] question re bookport 2 and mp3 files

I have a question that didn't come up on last week's main menu program. It has been
noted in the past on this list that on the current Bookport, if you load a
series of mp3 music files into a separate directory, like the songs from a
CD, they don't necessarily end up in the same sequence and play back in
 the
same sequence as on the original cd. I wonder if this has been corrected
 in
the new bookport 2, or whether that would have to await future
 developments.
