Thanks for all the info on the microphone! I am going to play around w/ the
bp tonight and test it out. I apologize if I'm sounding really uninformed
here, but I saw the message about the location of the apeture for the
microphone and I've been looking but cannot seem to find it. Is the hole for
the microphone easily detected with just the finger? Also, you don't need to
buy an external microphone, right? Thanks for bearing with me!

It can also, in a pinch, record interviews for Internet radio shows. Not exactly studio quality, but a little technical jiggery-pokery and you can get an almost half-semidecent interview recording.

Agreed--it's not designed to record a classroom lecture or much of anything
else with a source that's more than a few inches from the microphone, but
for making notes on something as you read it; or quickly recording telephone
numbers or other information in a similar situation; it's perfect.
