Hi all,
I do hope this finds you well.
While going through list archives, I found that I'm not the only one who's
ever had the problem I've described so many times. I also found some other
suggestions which I tried--I took myself off the network which did no good, and
I'd already changed the drive letter as I've said before. Still getting a
bookport not connected message, though all other USB peripherals seem to work
just fine in all eight ports...
In any case, I'm noticing something each time I do an install of Bookport
Transfer software. It does it really quickly, no End User License Agreement
pops up or anything--which just seems really odd to me. All it does is ask me
if I want to install, then tell me to close all other applications, pick an
instalation folder, and click the install button--then a few seconds later it
says it's through.
I'm generally relatively decent with trouble shooting and generally don't
have to bother others with issues, but apparently this is not one of those
times.
To recap things I've tried thus far:
1. Reformatted the original flash card both within the bookport and within a
card reader
2. Put bran new batteries in the bookport and did a reset
3. Reassigned a drive letter
4. Took myself off the university network
5. Cut off MS Firewall--the school won't let us use Symantec's--and also cut
off norton virus protection to see if it would connect that way
6. Tried the Bookport in all eight USB ports
7. Checked to see that all other devices which use USB--mouse, Pacmate,
keyboard and scanner were working properly
8. unplugged the scanner
9. Made sure BPLauncher was running at startup.
I absolutely cannot think of anything else to do.
Thanks in advance, and thanks for being understanding about my frustration.
Shanda
