Yes, you can plug in most anything that you want to use for listening. The
headphone jack is a standard 3.5 mm stereo jack. I have used everything from
the supplied earbuds to speakers to patch cables at various times and
reasons. You've made the right decision. Reading was never more convenient
nor enjoyable in all forms.
