to check the space on the card just wait until a file is playing/reading, and hold down 8. it'll tell you a bunch've stuff including the free space. As for a case, I use my pocket lol. You Cannot create folders on the bp, you have to do it through bookport transfer in the context menu. And, lastly, I don't think it'll make a difference whether you take the headphones out.
