Hi,
I have never really experienced the problem you are specifically
describing.
However, on occasion, the Book Port refuses to reset properly.
Perhaps try removing the batteries, and switching to a fresh set.
I am no expert, and so apologize if this fails to help.

It would say something like----- memory error then it would say mp3 error and some letters. I reinstalled the software and when I tried to update that it gets so far and just stops. I redid the podcast on Book Port 2.0 features, but I am not sure if your podcatcher software will grab it automatically (mine did not). You can grab it from www.aph.org/tech/bct.htm though if you are interested.
