Yes I use Control L for a page break. Or ASCII code 12. If you use that NoteTab
Light I told you about, do a find and replace and replace with "^B". That
equates to a page break in NoteTab.
I have never used MS Word to edit text files and I definitely will never. :)

  Jacques,
The code for a paragraph I think is two line feed/carriage returns.

What is the control code you are using for the page break? Is it a control "l"?

Back when I was using the Millennium 40 to do the search and replace work on
the .txt files, it was much easier to insert control codes. Badck then I used
control "m"/control "j" twice, for the paragraph mark, and control "l" for the
page break.

Now I am using MS Word to edit the files. It is less clear to me what codes
are being inserted. It seems that a caret-p is used for paragraph, and then I
am confused about what control codes are actually being inserted when I select
"line feed" or "page break" from the dialog box. Can you enlighten me on this?
Maybe this is my whole problem.

Thanks so much for your help.

Prior to the firmware update last March, I seemed to have no problem
inserting codes into text files, which would then allow efficient navigation of
the file in the bookport. After that firmware update, I have had great
frustration and have not been successful at inserting paragraph codes in order
to navigate with the 4 and 6 keys. Sometimes I also have problems inserting
page break codes in order to navigate with the 7 and 9 keys. The only
navigation code that now seems dependable is the section marker ";;;" which
uses the A/D and C/F keys.

Has anyone else had this problem?

In the rush to comply with DAISY, I hope we don't abandon the plain .txt
files!
