Did you use the Book Port Transfer software to copy the file to Book Port?
You can't just move a file to your Book Port from within Windows Explorer
unless either it's an MP3 file or you put plain text files in the Notes
folder.

I converted a file into a txt file, and moved it to my bookport for reading. But, when I push the read key, I get a unfiltered file type not supported error , or something like that. What do I have to do to allow my book port to read the file?
