Thanks for the input on this stuff.  I never thought I'd like "portable
music" until I started messing around with Goldwave and putting files on
larger cf cards.

If I'm not mistaken I believe 320 k b p s is "Near CD Quality."  128 k 
definitely suffers with music files on a quality reproduction system.  For 
audio books I use 48 kbps for considerably more data on the storage card.
