Well, first off it could make for the ability to do better organization of groups of files on a large memory card.

For example, a folder called books could have folders within it for different kinds of books instead of just dumping all your books, which could be quite a few, particularly if you had a collection of books from Web Braille or BookShare or both. Maybe I also want a folder of music on the same memory card, and I want sub folders by artist or some other way of separation.
