Marvin - Sorry to be so late in responding, but this most definitely is normal behavior. A CF card is no different from a hard disk in terms of the file structure and the operating system (or, in this case, the transfer program) will place a file wherever it finds the first block of space large enough to accept it. The only way to force files to be placed at the end of a folder is to defrag the card just as you would defrag a hard drive. Personally, I don't think it's worth the trouble and possible risk of loss. _____ From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Marvin Kotler/Josie McCarthy Sent: Tuesday, June 03, 2008 1:27 PM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport] Files landing in the middle of folder Good morning list. First, I am running two computers; one with xp home and one with windows me. I have this same problem on both of them. Sometimes when I transfer files to the bookport, the are put in the middle of the folder instead of at the end. Is this normal and if not, what can I do about it, Thanks in advance. Marvin Kotler
