Greetings lady and fellow book porters: Below are some details on bugs I've found in the deitor. I'll provide what details I've gleened thus far, will update them if I get more, and am happy to answer more questions as desired. As in previous betas, the delete by word feature still doesn't delete the trailling space character, making it impossible to use the command repeatedly. When key echo is set to off, backspace and delete characters aren't spoken. On Friday evening, I created a document and wrote several hundred characters of text. Key echo was off, and I made a number of mistakes along the way. Upon reviewing the document to correct those mistakes, I discovered that somewhere along the way, and early block of the text appeared as though it'd been copied and pasted into a later point in the file. It is possible, though I cannot confirm this suspicion, that the block of repeated text ended at a point where I'd stopped long enough for the machine to double-beep and power off. I removed the extra text and fixed my mistakes, and all appeared to be well. On Saturday night, I added to this file, and had two notable problems. First, I'd entered several hundred characters of text and had begun to do a bit of editing. I used the end of file command, and the data I'd entered in that session was gone. I navigated the file, left and re-entered the file, etc., but to no avail. I would have to enter the data again. While reviewing the file to try to find that data, I discovered the very same block of text that I'd had trouble with on Friday night, back in its entirity. I deleted that block of text again, re-entered the data which got zapped when using the end of file command, and finished up with a clean file. Don't know if this will prove helpful or not, but the block of text which keeps re-appearing is exactly 512 characters in length. Also of note, I'm not entering carriage returns in these files other than at the beginning and end of a section of text. I can have five to eight hundred characters between carriage returns. Like the mark and block commands, and love the notetaker with the optional key echo. It becomes a viable device for small notetaking tasks such as contacts or notes on the phone. Hope these bugs don't prove to be too hard to squash. Jeremiah
