Hi Gary and list: I've changed the subject to better reflect the discussion. I agree with you.I listened to the podcast describing the BP2. While it offers definite differences to the current model, it being released doesn't change the way I use my current model, which I'm very happy with. I'm sorry that Suzanne feels cheated, but that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. I was cheated every time I could have sent a text message but didn't for lack of an accessible phone. I tried doing a little complaining about it, but found that does no good. I learned my lesson and bought an accessible phone. It cost me more, but everyone knows blind people are made of money anyway. *lol* If you believe that, I'll rent you my mountain top retreat on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. *lol*

Hi Suzanne. If my Bookport broke right now, I'd buy another without a second thought. The product is that good. Perhaps the new one will be good, but it will never make the stir or the splash this one has. Lots of us like how the Bookport runs on batteries we can buy from the store - any store we may encounter on any trip that lasts longer than we think it will. There's always some sadness when one buys a computer and finds in two months his is no longer the newest and fastest. Give this machine a chance and you really won't regret the purchase. It is awesome!----- Original Message ----- From: "Suzanne" <suzerb1@xxxxxxxxxxx To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date sent: Sat, 10 Mar 2007 17:06:29 -0500 Subject: [bookport] Re: Larry's revelations about the Bookport onACB RadioAs a very recent purchaser of BookPort, March 3, 2007, I amenjoying itimmensely; however, if I had known that a newer version would bereleased sosoon, I would have waited to buy it. I feel cheated. I amsurprised atthis, because I have always believed Aph to be an ethicalnonprofitcorporation. If the release date were six months from now, Iwouldunderstand, but, if it really is going to be released during thesecondquarter of this year, then I am disappointed, indeed! Idon't believe that the podcast was any great secret...after all,the meetingwas a public one. I think this is more of a classic case of theleft handnot being aware of what the right one was doing or, in thisinstance, haddone. I'll bet that Pamela, who's the only APH employee stillfollowing andcontributing very regularly to this list, may not even have beenaware ofthe fact that it existed.----- Original Message ----- From: "Sandy Licht" <slicht@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, March 10, 2007 3:02 AM Subject: [bookport] Re: Larry's revelations about the Bookport onACB RadioYeah, but don't believe everything you read. (Smile.)I just listened to most of the Podcast, particularly to Rob's description of the new Bookport. Now, I'm wondering what the big deal is about the upcoming Main Menu program. Were we notsupposedto have found out about this Podcast? Why has everything beenkeptso quiet when this podcast was out there for all of us to listen to. Rusty, when did you say this was released? The new BP sounds like it would be good to have. The IconBraillePlus sounds even better , but I just spent a ton of money onanew laptop, so that will have to wait. It's very late, so forgive my rambling.
