Donna, the command is actually D+E+F, remember the D. When you issue this =
command, you should hear the two short beeps you usually hear when the =
unit is shutting down. Then, you can remove the batteries for as long as =
you like. Upon inserting a new set of batteries, the unit should return to =
your your settings instead of restoring the defaults.

Note: while the date and time are preserved, the clock does not actually =
"run" while the batteries are removed. So, after using this command a few =
times, it will be necessary to advance the clock a few minutes.

Hi

No, e f does not work for me.

How is this meant to save the settings?

Thanks
