As I said a while back, there may be a slow-discharge capacitor. The fact is that it's a confirmed technique, so don't argue with it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Grant Hardy" <granthardy@xxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, February 15, 2006 1:28 AM Subject: [bookport] Re: A dead bookport Guys, what's this nonsense about waiting 24 hours? I've always wondered. Well...maybe it isn't nonsense. But if I have, say, a vacuum cleaner that I plug in and nothing happens, I unplug it, plug it in again and the same thing happens, and I figure--oh, let's just unplug it, leave it for 24 hours and try again--what can change? Forgive me if this sounds like a very sarcastic question, but I'm wondering if there's in fact any technical reason to do this. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sandy Licht" <slicht@xxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, February 12, 2006 9:42 PM Subject: [bookport] Re: A dead bookport > Why not take the memory card out, and remove the batteries.
