The wheels are mag. Affordable to do back in the day, not so much these days!

It was a WAG! The oxidation (ex-foliation?) makes it appear that the
wheels are magnesium; unique in many ways.

Lee,
You ‘jogged’ my memory - my Dad, in an effort to keep the lights on
when the racing business was slow, designed and produce several
aftermarket items for VW’s, my guess is that these wheels were one
of those items, whether it be for the dune buggy crowd or just guys
wanting to ‘upgrade’ their VW’s.
Thanks to all the ‘ Bobsyians ‘ 😳 for their input.
Best, Ron

My recollection is that FVees were required to use VW steel wheels @
15 inch diameter (in SCCA racing, anyway).
Perhaps they were a special request to your dad for use on a
dune-buggy type of application(?)

Any possibility they were produced for other FV’s that utilized the
stock
front drum brakes and thus the stock VW bolt pattern? They do look wide
for
fronts however.

Any idea as to what these wheels go to? VW bolt pattern, 6x14,
however
I have never seen them on a Bobsy Vee.
Thanks, Ron
