Because further confusing the world is an avocation, I feel a need to describe my vcr set up. I have a splitter-amplifier into which the cable runs. The TV and VCR (2 vcrs to be exact)receive output from this device. The VCR is connected to the TV with RCA cords for sound and picture. So, recordings come straight from the cable, but playing them goes through the tv. The tv has vcr settings so I don't feed anything to it on channel 3 or 4. It does receive directly from the cable company the channels set for those frequencies. When the cable shifts over, I suspect these lower numbers will still be used, but that is a corporate decision and so may vary from provider to provider. At present, I do not have a cable box nor need one to receive the basic channels in my plan. Ron Denis
