For Defender, just launch it from the list of programs that is accessed through the start menu. When launched, select options and uncheck the appropriate boxes. The most important boxes to uncheck are those that do real time spyware scanning. However, any operation that enables the program should be turned off. For the content indexer, point to your C drive in Windows Explorer without fully opening it. use the Windows application key to go to properties and uncheck the content indexer. It may take several minutes for your computer to unindex and dump the stored data. I have just discovered that Defender is a tremendous CPU hog. Turning it off yesterday led to a smoother running PC. Also, have you disabled the content indexer in XP? This is an XP feature that doesn't work well but requires a lot of RAM and CPU overhead. When I disabled this, I noticed a lot less latency and a zippier machine. Deciding not to use these artifacts of Microsoft bloatware could give Replay the computer processing power and memory when it needs it. What I did was to have the next program start 1 minute after the previous ones closed. Btw, how does Replay work with other programs running at the same time? Thanks. ----- Original Message ----- From: petrakigianos-giasou@xxxxxxxxx To: blindreplay@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, June 27, 2007 10:09 PM Subject: [blindreplay] Re: Replay Requirements When you see "connecting" in the listview box after the show/station name for say longer than 45 seconds then the stream capture method will not work most of the time. My experience. I use the audio output method for such situations or find an alternate stream. The ones offered through the Replay Media Guide work well. --- Gary Petraccaro <garyp130@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > It happens on different stations, but not constantly or > predictably as far as I can tell.
