Hi, I have a message from my wife's friend who is trying to use Eudora. Answers would be helpful. Larry Hi Larry, Even the SBC techs, that is, second tier support over the phone for an hour and a guy they sent to my house from Las Vegas at no charge for 2 and a half hours, couldn't figure this out. SBC requires password authentication on smtp outgoing only. We checked the box for using authentication and elsewhere where there are 4 choices of authentication type is set on password. When Eudora brought up the dialog asking me to enter my password, he saw that it had added something about the pop server to the string. I'm not sure I understand which string that is, but I don't think it's the password itself, because it wouldn't show. I think it added to the user name, which should be marilyn.dorn@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx We think this is keeping me from logging in properly because the user name is corrupted. Please let me know if this makes any sense to you. If not, I will try to figure out what happened more specifically. The tech gave up on Eudora and set up our accounts with Outlook Express on each of our computers. At least it works but it sucks too. You can't do either a redirect or send again with Outlook Express. All the accounts are lumped into one in box and you have to choose which account from which to send messages. I figure that would make it easy to send from the wrong one. Enough of my OE gripes. Hope you have a hint or two for me. I am using Eudora 5.0R paid mode, Window Eyes 4.5 SP4, and Windows XP Pro SP2. We also tried it on Larry's desktop with Jaws 4.2 and Windows 98 SE. Thanks!
